In the beginning

In response to the suggestion that I replace the habit I am giving up for Lent, i.e. Facebook and Twitter, with something that will help me grow spiritually I decided to start a blog of my experiences of the next forty days. Since this is Ash Wednesday I will be attending mass for the first time in a long time. Later today I will pass along my reflections of that experience.
